Welcome back for the Season 5 premiere of On The Porch with Front Porch Music! A brand new season, a fresh chapter for the podcast, and an episode that perfectly sets the tone for what’s ahead.

A Canadian country star, Nashville-based artist, actress, and mom joins us for an honest, wide-ranging conversation about creativity, career evolution, and doing things on your own terms.
In this episode, MacKenzie takes us back to her roots in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where growing up in a musical family laid the foundation for everything that followed. From classical training at a young age to chasing big dreams far from home, her story is one built on family support, resilience, and trusting her instincts.
We also dive into how motherhood has influenced her career ... not by slowing her down, but by sharpening her focus and creativity. MacKenzie shares what it really looks like to balance family life with touring, recording, and acting, and why she hopes her story encourages other women in the industry to believe they don’t have to choose one or the other.
